Panthers Blank Warriors 3-0

Dawn Salo pitched a shutout making 20 saves

Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The women's hockey squad improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 3-0 blanking of Midland University on Saturday afternoon at Patterson Ice Center. The Panthers scored twice in the opening period to build a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes. Junior Laken Kunz got DU on the board at the 9:42 mark with an assist from freshman Ashley Reese. The Panthers held that lead for the next 10 minutes before extending it 2-0 at 19:40 on a power play tally by junior Samantha Rogers from Kunz.

After a scoreless second period, the Panthers tacked on one more goal at 0:33 of the third as sophomore Adrienne Porcalla scored with an assist from junior Courtney Curlee. Davenport outshot Midland, 45-20, for the contest. DU went 1-for-5 on the power play and killed off all six penalties.
