Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. - The Panthers found themselves in a defensive battle Wednesday night as Siena Heights held the DU offense in check for three quarters. Davenport then found a spark in the fourth quarter as they outscored the Saints 31-18 on their way to a 79-63 victory.
Davenport controlled the game early as they carried a six-point lead after the first quarter before Siena answered back. The Saints would then take their run as the Panthers top-ranked offense was held in check and Siena took a two-point lead to the break.
The Saints did not give in easily as they continued to lead DU in a defensive game by a 43-42 score with 3:36 remaining in the third quarter. This is when the Panthers offense found its stride as they would take a 6-2 run to end the quarter and carry a 48-45 lead into the final quarter of play. The Panthers would slowly wear down the Saints behind the balanced attack of four Panthers who recorded double figures in scoring, led by
Alex Law who totaled 16 points.
DU controlled the game on the glass and in the paint led
Kendra Cook as she recorded a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. The Panthers would outrebound the Saints 47-27 to help aid their late surge that saw the Panthers outscore Siena by 13 points in the fourth quarter.
The Panthers found their offense behind a second half field goal percentage of 51.9%.
Momo Neal totaled 12 points and
Molly Babbs added 10 points to help aid the DU late rally. This win by DU advances their oveall record in 2015-16 to 16-4 with a 12-1 record in the WHAC.
