Senior Night Features Eight-Goal Barrage

DU scores season-high in rout of Michigan-Dearborn

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - It was a banner Senior Night for the men's soccer team at Davenport as they got lucky win 13 on the season with a season-high 8-1 win over Michigan-Dearborn.

It took 18 minutes to get going for the Panthers but then they scored three goals in just over four minutes and never looked back. The senior duo of TJ Ifaturoti and Kevin LaCroix each had two goals in the match and fellow senior Jake Love also contributed to the goal total. Those three scored in that four-plus minute span to put the match in a comfortable way.

LaCroix scored his second on the season at 18:04 from Tyler Collishaw off a corner kick header. Ifaturoti got his seventh of the season at 20:59 from Jordan Van Oostenbrugge on a shot from 30 yards out. Love scored his seventh of the season at 22:25 off a rebound as Collishaw got another assist.

Ifaturoti got things going in the second half at 48:18 as Cam Cavanagh had the assist on a ball that was chipped over the defense and TJ won a foot race and converted. Brody Hall broke up the shutout at 49:05 on a header from Hussein Hassan for the Wolverines.

The final four goals belonged to LaCroix (67:09), Collishaw (73:49) and Brogan Shrimpton (78:22 and 88:48). Shrimpton increased his season total to four as Cavanagh assisted on the first goal and Lasse Pico Kjeldsen assisted on the second tally.

DU recorded 43 shots (16 SOG) compared to three (2 SOG) for Michigan-Dearborn. The Panthers are chasing Northwestern Ohio in the league standings and are two points back with two more regular season matches to play.
