DETROIT, Mich. – The Panthers win ninth straight match after defeating Marygrove 3-0 in Detroit. Davenport would provide a flurry of shots at the opposing keeper and capitalize on three of those shots. Three different Panthers scored during the match.
Davenport dominated this game from start to finish, and won every offensive category there is during a match. DU would tally 30 shots and firing 20 of those on net, while Marygrove would only stat one shot and one shot on goal. Davenport took ten corner kicks to Marygrove's zero. The defense took care of business when it needed to, possessing the ball and blockading all of Marygrove's offense.
Alayna Hilgendorf would get things started for the Panthers as she scored the game winning goal of the match. She fired a shot from just outside the box into the top of the net during the 71
st minute. Later in the second period Hilgendorf would find
Sabrina Stone in front of the net for a tap in goal. Shortly after,
Juli Knapp would net a similar goal to Hilgendorf's as she riffled one from outside the box into the top of the net.
The Panthers will have a tough couple days upcoming as they face off against the top team in the WHAC in Lawrence Tech. The Blue Devils come into the match 9-1 and undefeated in conference play. The match will be played at Lawrence tech on Saturday, start time is schedule for 12:30 p.m.
