SYLVANIA, Ohio – Davenports conference tournament run is stopped short by the Grey Wolves of Lourdes University. The Panthers upset the number four team Indiana Tech on Wednesday and turned right around and played the number one team Lourdes University in Ohio tonight. Davenport was outmatched as the Grey Wolves swept them 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-SET SCORES: 19-25, 21-25, 12-25
-Lourdes got a jump start to the match as they took an early 6-1 lead over DU. The Panthers would play from behind for most of the set. Davenport tied up the game at 11-11 and the Grey Wolves would pull away from there. Lourdes scored seven out of nine points to take an 18-13 lead and would close out the set with a 25-19 win.
-Davenport came back in the second set and gave Lourdes a run for their money. The Panthers tied up the game 20-20 after an attack error by Lourdes. The Grey Wolves scored five out of the last six points to win the second set and take a 2-0 lead.
-The third set was all the Grey Wolves as they won 25-12. Lourdes went on four different three point runs during the set to constantly increase their lead.
-Kill leaders were
Charlie Smith (eight),
Izzy Huntington (seven) and
Jessica Marvin (five).
-Same White had 27 assists.

Maddy Cassleman had seven.
UP NEXT
The Panthers season is officially over after the loss; Davenport finished the season 16-16 and 8-8 in conference play. The season was highlighted by the WHAC quarterfinals victory at Indiana Tech and other marquee victories throughout the season. Davenport will come back strong next year as the majority of their team were freshmen, sophomores and juniors. The Panthers will say goodbye to senior Cassleman as she played her last game tonight. Maddy will be sincerely missed and the team wishes her nothing but the best moving forward in the next steps of her life. Davenport will come back hungry next year as they will compete in NCAA division two against fellow GLIAC teams.
