ORLANDO, Fla. - The Davenport women's tennis team ran their win streak to four on Monday with a 7-2 decision over Augustana, Ill. in the Sunshine State on their spring trip. Augie came into the match with a 12-1 record but the No. 17 NAIA Panthers were too much for the Vikings.
DU took two of three in the doubles portion as
Alyssa Fuentes and
Puck Luttikhuis won 8-3 at one doubles.
Steph Ritson and
Anne Douwes also were 8-4 winners at two doubles.
The biggest battle in singles came at the four and five spots in the lineup. Ritson needed three sets to defeat Aileen MacDonald (4-6, 6-1, 10-8) and
Emily Spiech could not pull out a win against Caitlyn Schaffer (5-7, 7-6, 10-8).
Hannah Murphy had a 6-4, 6-4 win at six singles over Vicki Andonova.
