GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The 11th-ranked Davenport women's tennis team showed their highest ranking in school history was legit as they breezed past Cornerstone, 9-0, at Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex on Tuesday.
The Panthers (18-5) lost just four games the entire match against the winless Golden Eagles (0-15).
Puck Luttikhuis improved to 16-5 in dual singles matches this season with a 6-0, 6-0 win at number one over Heidi Boesl.
Steph Ritson played two singles for just the second time this season and won 6-0, 6-1 over Ashley Greene.
Emily Spiech got a 6-1, 6-0 win at three singles over Nicole Huizenga.
Bridget Barrett won for the 11th time in singles this season at the four-spot (6-1, 6-1) against Rachel Kono.
Hannah Murphy won 6-0, 6-0 at five singles over Kali Holmes.
Ashley Medcoff improved to 5-1 in dual singles with an 6-0, 6-0 victory at six singles over Tori Young. The Panthers also won all three doubles matches 8-0. DU is now 49-20 as a team in dual doubles this season.
