GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The No. 16 Davenport women's tennis team picked up their fourth straight win and improved to 15-5 this season with a 5-4 win over Saginaw Valley State on Sunday afternoon at MVP SportsPlex.
The match saw the Panthers lead 2-1 after doubles.
Alyssa Fuentes and
Puck Luttikhuis moved to 15-3 together in dual matches with an 8-4 win over Ana Pico Garcia and Erin Doud.
Steph Ritson and
Bridget Barrett also picked up an 8-3 win at three doubles over Shea Donahue and Mikayla Kazdan. The Panthers nearly swept doubles but the Cardinals won 9-8 (7-3 in a tiebreaker).
Fuentes improved to 10-4 in dual matches with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 win at one singles over Izabella Ismailova.
Puck Luttikhuis improved to 13-5 in dual singles with a convincing 6-0, 6-2 win at two singles over Ana Pico Garcia. Barrett got a win at six singles (6-0, 6-2) over Kazdan.
