GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport put on a show in the third period to get the second half of the season started on the right foot. The Panthers scored three goals Saturday night in the third period alone to defeat cross town opponent Aquinas College 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED-In the first period neither team was able to find the back of the net.
-Aquinas got on the board first during the second period about half way through, Marlowe Pentecost scored on an unassisted effort.
-Davenport turned things around in the third period, scoring three un-answered goals to beat Aquinas in the Panthers first game of the new year.
Adrienne Porcalla,
Laken Kunz and
Molly Byrum all scored during the period.
-Davenport out shot the Saint 64-19 during the game.
-Porcalla, Kunz and Byrum all scored one goal.
-Tori Dubuc,
Jaiden Forrest and Porcalla each tallied one assist.

Dawn Salo played all 60 minutes in net and saved 18 of the 19 shots she saw.
UP NEXTThe team is pleased with the win to start off the new year, however will host four games over the next two weeks. They will face off against University of Michigan and Colorado State next week, followed by a mini series with Northern Michigan the proceeding week.
