OXFORD, Ohio – The Panthers played a solid 20 minutes during the third period to get an important win against Miami University (Ohio). Heading into the last period the teams were tied at 1-1 and Davenport scored two goals to win on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED-Davenport got on the board first in the game with a goal by
Zachary Bodziak in the 12
th minute of play. After scoring the goal DU played some solid defense as they turned away all ten shots by Miami during the period.
-In the second period Miami turned up the heat a bit, they tallied 16 shots on goal and were able to convert on one to tie the game at 1-1. Davenport got 11 shots on goal, but the opposing goal tender did his job and saved all of them.

Branden Burton, the senior from Howell, Michigan made sure the Panthers had a chance to win the game with a goal four minutes and 20 seconds into the last period. Miami responded with a goal of their own just 16 seconds later. However,
Kyle Downey scored the go ahead goal to put the Panthers up 3-2 in the 12
th minute. He was assisted by
Marc Rotondo and
Jacob Otto.
-Bodziak, Burton and Downey all scored one goal.
-Otto assisted on both goals during the third period.

Tyler Buchanan was the man in the net and stopped 39 of the 41 shots by Miami.
