The men's Division III hockey team ran into a buzzsaw this weekend against Indiana Tech as the Warriors completed a sweep in the two-game series.

Game 1 (Friday, October 13th)
Final Score: Davenport 2, Indiana Tech 8
Location: Fort Wayne, Ind.
Records: Davenport 1-2, Indiana Tech 3-0

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Warriors scored both goals in the first period and also killed off three penalties.
Dillon Bond took a checking from behind minor late in the first and Anthony Passerelli scored the power play goal at 19:07. Nick Janiszewski scored the game's first goal at 11:53 from Jarret Haas and Blake Anderson.
-Bond made up for the first period penalty by scoring twice in the second period. He scored both goals at even strength at 14:25 and 16:39.
Travis Bouwkamp assisted on both goals and
Tyler Heyboer had an assist on the second goal.
-Indiana Tech scored five goals in the third period to pull away. Janiszewski scored at 1:28 from Christian Sandberg. He also scored the final goal at 17:14 to complete the hat trick. Jacob Fallis, Nick Waggoner and Ryan Krolikowski also scored in the third with Krolikowski scoring a short-handed goal at 8:51.

Conner McDowell got the start in net for the Panthers.
-No shots on goal or saves were recorded on the official scoresheet.
Game 2 (Saturday, October 14th)

Location: Grand Rapids, Mich.
Records: Davenport 1-3, Indiana Tech 4-0

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The change in venue did not change the outcome as the Warriors scored three times in the opening period compared to one for the Panthers. Connor Barney scored the first two goals for Indiana Tech at 5:03 and on the power play at 8:38. Krolikowski made it 3-0 at 14:34 from Passarelli and Barney.
Parker Schmitt got DU on the board at 15:38 unassisted.
-Jacob Fallis got the scoring started in the second on a power play tally at 6:08. Janiszewski scored just six seconds later for a 5-1 lead and then scored again at 16:48 on the power play from Anderson and Fallis. Heyboer scored for Davenport at 17:40 from
Schuyler DeVries. Anderson then scored on the power play at 18:59 from Sandberg and Fallis to end the scoring in the period.
-Passarelli, Anderson and Tommy Irick all scored in the final period as Anderson scored on the power play at 8:50 from Sandberg.
-Indiana Tech went 5-for-11 on the power play compared to 0-for-4 by Davenport. The final shot tally was 58-16 in favor of Indiana Tech. McDowell made 31 saves in the first two periods and then
Jordan Tafel played all 20 minutes in the third and made 16 saves.

UP NEXT
It is a chance to get back into the win column on Oct. 27-28 as the Panthers will face the Spartans of Michigan State. Both games will be played in East Lansing at times to be determined at this time.
