GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport will be traveling to Saginaw Valley State on Saturday for a 3 p.m. kickoff inside Harvey Randall Wickes Memorial Stadium in University Center, Michigan. The Panthers hosted No. 20 Ashland last Saturday and dropped a 38-0 decision to the Eagles. The Cardinals have a three-game losing streak and fell 34-6 at No. 9 Grand Valley State in the Battle of the Valleys. The Panthers have played a tough schedule to this point with two of their losses coming against nationally-ranked teams. They also have three of their five losses against the top three teams in the GLIAC who are a combined 10-0 this season in conference games. The Cardinals won their first two games against non-conference opponents in Alderson Broaddus and Walsh, both members of the GMAC. They also have had close calls in a 10-point loss at Wayne State and four-point loss against Michigan Tech. The Cardinals are currently fourth in the GLIAC averaging 396.8 yards per game. They are also third in the league averaging 228 passing yards per game. Davenport and Grand Valley State are the only two teams in the GLIAC without a field goal this season. The Davenport defense ranks seventh in the conference allowing 353.6 yards per game and are tied for fourth with nine sacks.
