GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers 10 game win streak comes to an end after the Blue Devils take a 17-13 win on the DU Turf Field. Davenport had previously beat Lawrence Tech earlier in the regular season 21-18 at the Blue Devils home turf. Lawrence Tech returned the favor and evened up the regular season series at one a piece. Davenport remains a top of the WHAC standings with a conference record of 9-1 and hold a half game lead over the Blue Devils.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Davenport started off the game on a good note as
Brooke Knoll scored the initial goal of the game after 79 seconds of play. After the Blue Devils responded and tied the game at one goal a piece
Jessica Lemcke jumped on the scoring train and gave DU a 2-1 lead early in the game. The Blue Devils made a six goal run that would change the momentum for the remainder of the game. The Panthers scored three goals to cut the lead down to two goals with 9:18 left in the first period. Lawrence Tech strung together two more goals of their own to take a 9-5 lead at halftime. At half Davenport had recorded 11 turnovers and were down four goals despite winning 10 out of the 15 possible draw controls.
In the second half Davenport was never able to score more than two un-answered goals as Lawrence Tech consistently had an offensive answer. The Blue Devils and Panthers each scored eight goals during the second period. The Panthers chipped the lead down to two goals with only 2:57 remaining in the game. Lawrence Tech scored two late goals on an open Davenport net to close out the game.
