HOW IT HAPPENED
Taylor Ries got the Panthers on the board first with a goal just 28 seconds into the game. The game was tight for the opening 10 minutes, staying around a one or two goal game. With 18:34 left in the period Siena Heights scored a goal to cut the lead down to one goal. Over the next 12 minutes and six seconds Davenport went on a 10 goal frenzy. The panthers scored 10 un-answered goals during that time period and saw goals from Ries, Jessica Lemcke and Brooke Knoll. Davenport went into the locker room with a 11 goal lead.

The Saints stepped up their game in the second period, outscoring DU 7-4 during the 30 minutes of play. The lead that was created during the first period was too much for the Saints to over come. Two goals by Lemcke and a goal each by Knoll and Ries stopped the Saints from making a legitimate come back in the period.

Another milestone has been broken for this team. Samantha Powers, with her six saves during the game, has surpassed 300 total saves for her career. She is only the second player in program history to do so.
