CALEDONIA, Mich. - The Davenport men's soccer team suffered a very unfortunate loss on Sunday to Tiffin despite having several chances in a 1-0 outcome. Darren Appanah scored his second of the season for Tiffin at 18:33 from Alexander Wagener and it held up even though Davenport finished with a 20-5 advantage in total shots and 8-3 in shots on goal. Davenport managed 10 corner kicks and hit the post a number of times against the Dragons.
Stephen Carroll had a great look early in the second half but one of the Tiffin defenders made a save with the goalkeeper out of position at the 46:28 mark after a rebound on his own shot four seconds earlier.
Brogan Shrimpton had his goal-scoring streak come to an end at five matches but did have a pair of headers in the second half that were saved by Cary Wilson. The last shot on net came at 83:26 from
Jovanni Garcia from the top of the 18-yard box.
