BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers earned the right to compete in the GLIAC Tournament for the second consecutive year. However, similar to last year, Davenport was bounced in the quarterfinals. This year Davenport took on a very talented Ferris State, who came into the game having only lost two games all season. The Bulldogs scored four unanswered goals before Davenport scored their lone goal during the 87
th minute of play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Davenport came out super aggressive in the first half, creating a couple scoring opportunities. The Panthers earned two corner kicks and recorded two shots on goal in 15 minutes of play. Following the second shot on goal, which was by
Alayna Hilgendorf in the 14
th minute of play, Davenport didn't record a shot on goal for the remainder of the half. Ferris State snuck in one goal to lead 1-0 at halftime.
The start of the second half was not what the Panthers were looking for. The Bulldogs scored just 19 seconds into the half, creating a two-goal deficit for Davenport to overcome. Ferris State added two more goals to increase their lead to four during the 68
th and 76
th minutes. Davenport got on the board late with a header from
Sabrina Stone finding the back of the net, assisted by
Alice Linsell.
UP NEXT
The 2018 season officially comes to a close for Davenport. The Panthers went 6-10 overall and finished 4-5 in conference play. For the second straight season Davenport participated in the GLIAC Tournament.
