SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Panther women's basketball team squared off with No. 9 Drury on Saturday in a matchup of DU Panthers. Drury showed why they are a top 10 team in NCAA Division II with an 81-56 win over visiting Davenport. Davenport slips to 2-4 overall while Drury is 6-0. The second game of the Thanksgiving Classic pitted Davenport against another undefeated team.
Jenna Falkenberg notched her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds in 24 minutes. She shot 6-of-8 from the floor and 2-of-2 at the free throw line and also blocked three shots.
Toni Grace matched Falkenberg with a season-high 14 points going 5-of-10 from the floor and 4-of-4 at the foul line. Davenport felt pressure by Drury and committed 36 turnovers in the contest which the home team converted to 32 points. Drury led throughout the game and it was tied for just 1:17.
Davenport came into the game shooting well from the arc but were just 1-of-15 in this one. They did convert 17-of-23 at the charity stripe. Drury shot 11-of-29 from deep and were 12-of-19 at the free throw line. Four players scored in double figures for Drury led by Hailey Diestelkamp's 17 points. The best quarter for Davenport was in the third when they outscored Drury 17-9.
