TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Davenport traveled to Indiana State (NCAA Division I) for their final game of 2018 and the Sycamores held the Panthers to 16 second-half points in a 79-43 win. DU hung tough in the first half and went into the halftime down 30-27. The Panthers went to the free throw line 12 times in the first quarter and attempted just five field goals.
The Sycamores outscored Davenport 24-5 in the third quarter as the game turned into a one-sided affair. DU shot 2-of-18 in the third quarter while Indiana State went 7-of-13 from the floor and 10-of-12 at the free throw line. The third quarter momentum carried into the fourth quarter as Indiana State outscored DU 25-11. DU could not find any success from the three-point line going 0-of-8 in the second half.
Indiana State held a 35-13 edge in bench points as Tamara Lee led the Sycamores with 17 points in 24 minutes off the pine. Turnovers were a key stat as Davenport had 24 compared to 12 for the home team. ISU held a 19-9 edge in points off turnovers.
Jenna Falkenberg led Davenport with 14 points and nine rebounds.
Amanda Merz added eight points and three steals.
