ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Panthers squared off with nearby rival Grand Valley State University's ACHA Division II on Saturday night. The Lakers provided too much scoring firepower and played solid defense against the Panther. Davenport fought with all their might, but were unable to make a comeback after getting down early.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Lakers scored twice in the first period and held a two-goal lead after 20 minutes of play.
-In the second period Grand Valley scored another pair of goals before DU got on the board. With 55 seconds left in the period
Tyler Jaenicke netted a powerplay goal to cut the lead down to three goals, assisted by
Chris McRae.
-During the final period the Lakers added three more goals. Davenport couldn't connect on any of their shots to score another goal.
-Jaenicke scored the lone goal for the Panthers.
-McRae assisted on the Panthers lone goal.

Devin Rosema played all 60 minutes in net and made 45 saves.
