SAINT LEO, Fla. – Davenport opened their 2018 season with an unfamiliar opponent, Saint Leo University. This is the first time that the two teams ever stepped on a lacrosse field together and the Lions won the game. The Panthers struggled to slow down the Lions high powered offense, giving up 19 goals to Saint Leo. Davenport held the advantage in the draw controls 16-11, but lost the ground ball battle 34-14.

Ryann Deuel. Following the goal by Deuel the Lions scored four unanswered to take a 5-1 lead. Davenport scored two more goals during the period, but couldn't string consecutive goals together. Saint Leo led 14-3 heading into halftime.
The Panthers played significantly better in the second period. Deuel scored the first goal of the period and then
