GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Following the conclusion of the doubles matches and the start of the singles Davenport found themselves down 4-1. With four players left to compete in singles the Panthers needed to win all four matches.
Bridget Barrett was the final match to finish and she earned DU their fifth and game-winning point. Despite defaulting three points to Aquinas the Panthers come out on top over their former conference opponents.

Doubles Competition
The Panthers defaulted in third doubles, falling behind 1-0 early. Davenport tied the game 1-1 when
Steph Ritson and
Adeline Nelson won in first singles 8-2.
Sophie Gossett and Barrett fell in two doubles 8-4, which was the last doubles match to be completed.
Singles Competition
After defaulting fifth and six singles the Panthers found themselves down three points with only four more points available in the match. Nelson finished before anyone else her match, she won 6-0 and 6-4 in second singles. Bringing the Panthers to within one point was Gossett. She won 6-2 and 6-2 in fourth singles to cut the Saints lead down to 4-3. Ritson's singles match finished second to last and she tied up the team score 4-4. She won 7-6 and 6-1 in first singles. Barrett earned the final point of the match, winning 7-6 and 6-0 in third singles.

Davenport only has three more matches remaining in their 2017-18 season. The Panthers will host Cornerstone University on Tuesday, March 20.
