» Davenport will be looking to snap a two-game losing skid when they host Michigan Tech on Saturday for the Red Out Game. The game will be honoring First Responders from the area who can get in free with proper identification. All raised funds will go directly to a new Lucas Machine (automated CPR machine) for Caledonia Township.

» The Panthers battled to the end at Ashland last week before falling 30-27. It was a much improved result after falling by a combined 69-6 in the first two meetings with the Eagles. The Huskies are riding momentum after claiming the Miner's Cup over Northern Michigan, 24-20, in Houghton a week ago. It was the 10th straight win in the series with their Upper Peninsula rival.

» Deondre Ford set the school record with 390 passing yards versus Ashland. He completed 19-of-36 with no interceptions and three touchdowns. The previous record was 280 yards by Haiden Majewski against Wayne State in 2017.

» For the first time in school history, Davenport had two players with 100-yard receiving days. Marquian Johnson caught four passes for 121 yards and Ulice Gillard caught two passes for 100 yards. Gillard caught a 99-yard touchdown pass from Ford in the second quarter to set the school record. Then Johnson hauled in a 92-yard touchdown from Ford in the fourth quarter. It is believed to be the only time in GLIAC history with two pass plays over 90 yards in a game.

» The Eagles rushed for 188 yards on 46 carries. Gei'vonni Washington carried 31 times for 134 yards and two scores. It was the first 100-yard rusher allowed by DU this season.

» Jalen Robinson led the defense with a career-high 12 tackles. It is the second straight week he had 10-plus tackles.

» Davenport is even in the turnover battle this season. They have nine giveaways and nine takeaways which ranks tied for 79th nationally. For the season, Davenport has scored 17 points off turnovers and the opponent has scored 28 points.

» It has been a unique quarter breakdown of scoring this year for the Panthers. In the second half in particular, DU is being outscored 42-7 in the third quarter and outscoring their opponent 53-23 in the fourth quarter.

» The Davenport defense this week ranks 29th in third down defense (30.3), 11th in first down defense (85), 29th in passing yards allowed (169.2), 17th in sacks (3.0) and 16th in tackles for loss (8.6).

» Michigan Tech began their season with three straight road games and went 2-1 in those contests. They beat Hillsdale (29-14) and McKendree (24-19) in the first two weeks and then fell 23-7 against Saginaw Valley State. The last two games for the Huskies have been at home including a nail-biter against Grand Valley State in which they lost 21-16 and last week's win over Northern Michigan. The Huskies have shown great discipline this season having been penalized the third-fewest times in NCAA Division II. They have also been stout on the offensive line allowing less than one sack per game to register seventh in the nation.
