CALEDONIA, Mich. - The final regular season home game for six seniors went as well as possible on Sunday afternoon with a 5-0 win over Upper Iowa. The Panthers beat the Peacocks twice now this season by identical 5-0 scores. Davenport won for the third straight game and are now one point behind Parkside in the GLIAC standings with three regular season games left.
NOTES AND NUMBERS
- The Panthers got off to a quick start as
Daire O'Riordan scored his fourth of the season at the 1:51 mark.
Tyler Welch and
Carson Brinks had an assist on the game's first goal. Brinks had the final pass as O'Riordan turned and scored from 21 yards inside the left post.

Brayden Texer scored the first of his two goals on the day in the 26th minute. Brinks had another assist as he had a long cross to the right post and Texer finished on a tough angle for the 2-0 lead.

Ryan Zietlow scored in the 35th minute for his second of the season.
Evan Marquess was given the assist as he dribbled through defenders to score from 16 yards.
- The Panthers got one more goal just before halftime in the 45th minute.
Caleb Hughes scored his first collegiate goal with assists to Marquess and
Brock Schultz. Schultz was the final one to head the ball towards Hughes. He scored right in front of the goal line and the Panthers led 4-0.
- The only goal in the second half happened in the 53rd minute of action. Texer's third of the season was very similar to his first goal of the game. He took a long ball from
Lasse Pico Kjeldsen left to right wing and scored from 14 yards.
- Davenport finished with 26 total shots and 13 shots on goal. The Peacocks managed just three total shots with two on goal.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Panthers (8-6, 8-3) will begin a three-game road swing to end the regular season. Davenport will travel to Northern Michigan (6-8, 5-5) on Friday, Nov. 1 for a 1 p.m. kickoff with the Wildcats. NMU has won three straight.
