» The month of October ended with a 27-7 loss at No. 16 Grand Valley State last Saturday night. After a 3-0 month of September, the Panthers did not win a game in October. The overall record of their September opponents is currently 9-14, while the four opponents in October have posted a combined record of 24-7.

» The Panthers rushed for 1.6 yards per carry over the last four games and scored just twice on the ground. They have yielded 11 rushing touchdowns and 4.1 yards per carry. The passing game is averaging 190.2 yards per game with six touchdowns. The team also got off to slow starts in the last four games being outscored 38-0 in the first quarter and 74-13 in the first half.

» The Panther defense had a really good game at Grand Valley State and allowed just 202 total yards to the Lakers. It was the lowest output of the season for GVSU breaking the previous mark of 287 yards at Michigan Tech. GVSU went 4-for-12 on third down and did not convert their only attempt on fourth down. The average field position for GVSU was their own 44-yard line for the game. Meanwhile, Davenport started at their own 22-yard line on average. Two of their three touchdown drives covered 21 and 34 yards respectively.

» The Panther offense in the poor conditions in Allendale did not convert a third down until the third quarter and managed 131 of their 161 yards in the third stanza. Haiden Majewski played in the second half in relief of Deondre Ford and promptly led the team on an 11-play, 90-yard drive for their lone score. Majewski rushed for 25 yards, the longest run on the night for DU, on the second play of the drive and on the 11th play he tossed a 36-yard touchdown to a wide-open Nate Couturier. The pitch-and-catch combo both went to Allendale High School.

» The Panthers have made 13 plays of 30-plus yards this season. The breakdown is one rushing play, eight passing plays, three kickoff returns and one interception.

» The all-time series against Wayne State is tied 1-1. The Panthers improved to 6-0 last season on October 6 with a 37-14 win in Detroit. Daronte Powers caught a pair of touchdown passes in the first half and finished with three catches for 43 yards. Seth Acda went over the century mark with 136 rushing yards and a 65-yard run which is still the school record. DU has not had a 100-yard rusher since that performance. The Warriors won the first meeting on November 11, 2017 in Caledonia. The game went to overtime with Wayne State picking up the 34-27 win. Romello Brown scored on a four-yard run in OT which capped off a three rushing TD performance.

» Chris Ahmed enters this week having converted 35-of-39 extra points and 11-of-16 field goals in his 18-game career. This season he booted four field goals in the first three games. Since then he has attempted just one field goal and it was blocked from 50 yards against Ashland.

» Kye Black leads the team with 55 tackles this season. He has played in 36 career games for the Panthers at linebacker. Black has a total of 261 tackles, 38 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and one fumble recovery at DU.

» Nate Couturier has caught a touchdown pass in four of the last five games. He currently leads the team with 24 catches for 384 yards and is averaging 16 yards per catch. He ranks seventh in the GLIAC in receptions and touchdowns and ninth in yards and yards per game.

» Haiden Majewski went over 2,500 passing yards in his career at GVSU last week with 57 yards on 5-of-6. Majewski has thrown 22 touchdowns and has a 120.8 efficiency rating in 22 career games.
