Davenport's Season Comes to a Close at Ashland

ASHLAND, Ohio - The Davenport University women's volleyball team needed a win at Ashland on Saturday in the regular-season finale to qualify for the GLIAC Tournament. However, the Panthers' chances were eliminated as the Eagles won the match in straight sets.

- In the first set, there were three ties, the last of which came at 4-4 and opened up a 13-4 run for the home team.

- However, the Eagles scored six of the final nine points to win the set and go up 2-0 in the match.

- Ashland opened up the third set by scoring 10 of the first 14 total points.

- From there, Davenport pulled within two on four different occasions, but couldn't get over that hump.
