ASHLAND, Ohio – The third-ranked Ashland Eagles had a balanced scoring night with six players in double figures on Friday night in a 94-57 win over Davenport. The Eagles shot 52.9 percent from the floor including 48.3 percent from behind the arc. Davenport finished the game shooting 34.8 percent from the floor but made just 2-of-17 behind the arc.
Ashland started the game scoring the first nine points and never trailed. The Panthers cut the lead to 11-6 at the 5:17 mark of the first quarter after a layup by
Leighten Koepke. The Eagles however scored the next eight points to lead 19-6 after a Jodi Johnson free throw.
The lead grew to 43-23 at the 3:17 mark of the second quarter and then Ashland pushed their lead to 55-25 at halftime ending the quarter on a 12-2 spurt. The Eagles scored 12 bench points in the second quarter.
Jenna Falkenberg scored a season-high 21 points and topped 20 points for the third time this season. She shot 8-of-10 from the floor and grabbed eight rebounds while also blocking five shots in 28 minutes.
Toni Grace scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds in 30 minutes.
