WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Davenport entered today's game coming off a close loss to Florida Tech and wanted to prove they could defeat a Florida team. The Panthers came out in the first period and stuck it to the Sailfish, outscoring them 10-6 in the first period.
Taylor Ries and
Ryann Deuel were dominant, combing for 15 points in the game. The win puts Davenport at 2-2 this season, with only one non-conference game remaining before they start their GLIAC schedule.

How It Happened
After roughly nine minutes of play the score was tied 3-3. The Panthers saw goals from
Brenna Knoll,
Aaliyah Miller, and Deuel during the stretch. In the last 20 minutes of the period Davenport outscored the Sailfish by a score of 7-2, taking loads of momentum into halftime. The run was kicked off by a man down goal by Deuel, then followed up by an unassisted effort from
Kenzie Warren. She came back and scored another unassisted goal a few minutes later to give DU a 6-4 lead. Palm Beach finally scored to end the Davenport run. A new run started with a Deuel goal, then
Taylor Ries scored one, and Knoll ended the run with two straight goals. The Sailfish scored a goal in the final minute of the half and Davenport went into half leading by four.
Palm Beach Atlantic made a small run to open the second period. The Panther lead was cut down to only one goal after the Sailfish went on a 4-1 run. Davenport gathered themselves and scored two goals to bring their lead back up to three goals. The Sailfish had some urgency down the stretch, needing to string together multiple goals to erase DU's lead. However, every time that PBA scored down the stretch, Davenport had an answer. The Panthers never let the lead get lower than two goals over the final 10 minutes of action.
The seven assists by Ries in the game ties for the fourth most in a game by an individual at Davenport.
