GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport women's tennis team had a short trip to MVP SportsPlex on Saturday to take on former NAIA and WHAC opponent Aquinas College. The Panthers got their first win of 2019 with a 5-4 decision over the Saints.
Davenport suited up five for this one and trailed 2-1 after doubles play.
Adeline Nelson and
Hannah Murphy were victorious 8-2 at one doubles.
The Panthers won four points in singles to win the match. Nelson took care of Remington Gerst at one singles (6-2, 6-1).
Bruna Ralheta won her match at three singles by scores of 6-2, 6-2.
Vladislava Shumilova at four singles won over Vaneesa Heylmun by scores of 6-2, 6-0.
Sophie Gossett defeated Darci TerHaar by 7-5, 6-2 at five singles.
