HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Panthers got a big win over rival Grand Valley State in the first game of the ACHA Central Regional. The seventh-seeded Panthers took a 5-0 win over the Lakers.
-Clint Loney scored the only goal of the first period at 13:07 left in the period on the power play from Kyle Mazur.
-The Panthers really opened it up in the second period with three goals. All three of the goals came at even strength. Trevor Murray scored at the 13:30 mark from Adam Hulsey. Justin Vantine made it 3-0 at the 8:54 mark unassisted. Mazur put DU ahead 4-0 at the 2:46 mark from Evan Carroll.
-Tyler Jaenicke put the final goal on the board at the 16:54 mark of the third period from Connor Seymour. There were 18 total penalties in the contest. Davenport served 23 minutes for the game in the box. Drake Deering got the win in net with 18 saves.
