ORLANDO, Fla. - It was a great ending to a successful spring trip for the Davenport women's tennis team as they defeated Birmingham-Southern College by a score of 6-3. The Panthers concluded the trip with a 3-2 record and are now 5-12 overall. BSC sees their record fall to 4-2 overall.
The doubles were played as one point for each match and DU earned two points.
Adeline Nelson and
Hannah Murphy took the one doubles match by a score of 8-4.
Sophie Gossett and
Vladislava Shumilova got the best of Lexie Dillard and Ashton Henderson at two doubles by a score of 8-7 (7-5) in the tiebreaker.
Nelson won her match at one singles in straight sets over Isabella Wisener (6-2, 6-4).
Bruna Ralheta took care of Harper Anderson at three singles (6-4, 6-2). Shumilova also had no trouble with Emily Enoch at four singles (6-0, 6-2). Gossett needed three sets but prevailed over Ashton Henderson at five singles (6-2, 4-6, 10-5).
