CALEDONIA, Mich. - The Davenport women's tennis team opened up their season on Saturday morning as they welcomed Ashland to Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. The match also counted as a GLIAC match with the Eagles winning 5-2.
The doubles started things off with one point on the line. Ashland got wins at one and three doubles to earn that point.
Willemien Coetzee and
Adeline Nelson won for the Panthers at two doubles over Gabriella Hudec and Camille Ringot (7-5).
Danica Malan in her first match for Davenport picked up a 7-6, 6-2 win over Brianna Brdicka at the two spot in singles. Coetzee played at one singles and also won 6-2, 6-3 over Nikhol Pluta. The Eagles won the other four singles matchups in straight sets.
