GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers played their first game in the DU Student Center since December 14, facing GLIAC opponent Ferris State University. The Bulldogs built up a 21-point lead, which was too deep of a deficit for DU to dig themselves out. The loss puts Davenport at 5-8 for the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game was anyone's to be had in the first half. Ferris State outscored DU in the first quarter by two points and then Davenport outscored the Bulldogs in the second quarter by two points, bringing the score to a 33-33 tie at half. Freshman
Madison Jones had 13 points in the first half, including a trio of threes. The first half of basketball saw plenty of turnovers from both teams, with a combined 19 turnovers taking place. Davenport went into the locker room at halftime being in a solid place to earn a win.
The third quarter was the downfall for DU, giving up 34 points to Ferris State and finding themselves down 21 points. The Bulldogs could not miss, shooting 13/21 from the field. Davenport turned things around in the fourth quarter, outscoring Ferris State by seven points. However, the third quarter play of Ferris State was the difference in the game.
Jenna Falkenberg and
Elise Scaggs each notched double-doubles, with Falkenberg scoring 20 points to go along with her 10 rebounds. Scaggs grabbed 11 boards and scored 12 points.
Scout Nelson also was in double digits in rebounds, snagging a game-high 12 boards.
