HAMMOND, Ind. – Davenport continued their road trip with a conference game against Purdue Northwest. The previous matchup between the teams this season resulted in a one possession loss for Davenport. Unfortunately, this game had the same result. The Panthers fell by three points in this game. Elise Scaggs was unstoppable on the offensive side of the ball, she scored 21 points on 7/8 from the field and 7/7 from the charity stripe.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Unlike most of their previous games, Davenport got off to a slow start. They got outscored in both the first and second quarter, heading into halftime trailing by 12 points.
The team made some adjustments at halftime and came out red hot in the third quarter. Scaggs scored the Panthers opening six points of the half, four of those from the free throw line. Davenport used that momentum and scored an impressive 25 points. Freshman
Emily Lange drained a three with only three seconds left in the quarter, cutting the PNW lead down to just one point.
The lead was officially erased late in the final quarter, with the game being tied 67-67 with 2:42 to play. The next points were scored by PNW with just under two to play in the game and then added two free throws with 34 seconds in the game.
Toni Grace hit a clutch three with 22 seconds remaining, cutting the lead down to one point. The Pride hit both their free throws on the ensuing possession, giving DU a chance to tie the game. On the next possession, DU missed a jumper and the ball belonged to Purdue Northwest after the miss. They went on to hit another two free throws and Davenport trailed by five with five seconds to play. Scaggs hit a layup as the final buzzer sounded. The Panthers fell by three to the Pride.
