HOLLAND, Mich. - The Davenport women's tennis team made their way west on Friday with a matchup against Hope College. The Panthers were playing for the first time in 2020 after playing their main season in the fall. Friday's tilt against the Flying Dutch was the first of 15 scheduled matches this spring.
Hope managed to win all three doubles matchups and received one team point. Hope only lost four doubles games in the process. Davenport did garner one point in the 6-1 loss.
Vladislava Shumilova got a win at four singles over Sydney Jackson by scores of 7-6, 6-4. Hope won four of the singles matchups in straight sets.
Sophie Gossett for DU at five singles put up a major fight falling 6-2, 3-6, 10-7.
