HILLSDALE, Mich. - Hillsdale College came ready to play on Wednesday and did not allow the Panthers to have a lead in an 81-44 defeat in non-conference action. The Chargers scored six seconds into the game and would not yield that lead. Davenport cut the lead down to one on three different occasions in the first quarter but Hillsdale went on a 9-0 run to end the quarter and take a 24-14 lead.

Davenport kept the deficit in single digits throughout much of the second quarter and trailed 30-24 at the 4:00 mark. Hillsdale again ended a quarter on a run and this time it was 7-0 to lead 37-24 at intermission. Hillsdale shot 34.2 percent in the first half compared to 26.3 percent for the Panthers.

The third quarter proved to be the difference as DU was outscored 22-6 and did not make a field goal until the 1:19 mark on a Jaci Walker jumper. Walker also scored again with 28 seconds left in the quarter. Lillee Gustafson scored the other points going 2-of-4 at the foul line. Davenport shot 11.8 percent in the quarter compared to 61.5 percent for the Chargers.

Davenport shot a season-low 21.6 percent from the floor including 4-of-30 behind the arc. Hillsdale shot 41.2 percent including 13-of-34 from the arc. Grace Touchette led all scorers for Hillsdale with 21 points and also led her team with seven assists. Loni Sales led the Panthers with 13 points and scored in double figures for the fifth time this season including the last three games. Scout Nelson added 10 points and seven rebounds.
