This is going to be the seventh and eighth meetings between the schools and the Huskies have a 5-1 advantage. The teams split the series last season with Davenport winning 81-66 on Jan. 25 and Michigan Tech returning the favor 74-60 on Feb. 20. Both games were won by the home team. DU had one of their best performances of the year in the home win by 15 points. The Huskies shot 35.6 percent and were 5-of-25 from the arc. The Panthers shot 47.2 percent and were 8-of-17 behind the arc and 23-of-30 at the free throw line.
Toni Grace scored 25 points including 9-of-10 at the line.
Madison Jones scored 21 points including 4-of-7 behind the arc and also had four assists and four steals.
Scout Nelson added 10 points and four rebounds. In the return trip, DU shot 34.4 percent and were just 3-of-20 from deep. Nelson scored 11 points and had five rebounds.
Toni Grace (Fishers, Ind.) was named GLIAC South Player of the Week on Monday. She had a career weekend in a pair of wins over Lake Superior State. She reached the 20-point plateau for the ninth time in her career and second time this season with 25 points on Friday. She followed that up with a career-high 33 points on Saturday breaking her previous career-high of 30 points set against Hillsdale on Nov. 24, 2019. The 33 points is also tied for the eighth best in school history. Grace also had a well-rounded effort by totaling 10 rebounds, nine assists, and six steals in the two games. She shot 58.8 percent from the floor including 9-of-17 from behind the arc and also connected on 9-of-11 at the free throw line. She is now averaging 18.1 points per game which ranks sixth in the conference.
