Panthers hit the road for final time in regular season at Grand Valley State

The Davenport women's basketball team will be making the short trip over to Allendale tomorrow night to face 11th-ranked Grand Valley State. The teams played once already this season back on Jan. 26 at the DU Student Center. The Lakers pulled away in the fourth quarter for the 77-60 win over the Panthers. GVSU outscored DU 24-10 in the fourth quarter after three very close quarters. GVSU was ranked 15th for the first meeting and ended the game shooting 49.1 percent. They were 16-of-20 at the foul line and scored 38 points in the paint. Davenport shot 34.8 percent overall but did make 11 three-pointers to match a season high. DU only went to the foul line four times and made three. Toni Grace scored 19 points and connected on 4-of-7 behind the arc. Loni Sales added 13 points, four assists and two steals. Scout Nelson tossed in 11 points to go with four assists and two steals. The Lakers got 17 points off the bench from Ellie Droste. Emily Spitzley recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in 32 minutes.
