Maryville Upends Panthers

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. – In the final weekend of the 2021 regular season, the Women's Hockey team traveled down to Missouri to take on first-year program Maryville University, with each team was looking for their second win of the season.
 
The Saints came ready to play on home ice, and despite a great effort from the Panthers, Maryville prevailed in the first game of the weekend set.

The Saints worked their way to a 1-0 lead in the first period with a goal from Mady Johnson, before adding two more in the second with Johnson's second and a tally from Paige Stelzer to take a three-goal lead into the third period.
 
In the final 20 minutes, DU would get on the board, after captain Olivia Rudberg scored after a good faceoff set up from Ashley Cutcher and Courtney Mulligan. However, the Saints added two more, as Johnson completed the hat trick before one more from Sydney Potsson, and went on to win by a final score of 5-1.

The two teams will meet on Saturday, as DU wraps up their regular season. Puck drop from the Maryville University Hockey Center is at 2:30 p.m. CST.
