Box Score 2 ASHLAND, Ohio - The tennis teams traveled to Ashland University on Saturday but could not defeat the Eagles. The women's team fell 5-2 and the men's team suffered a 4-3 setback.
Jonathan Bulmer eclipsed a career milestone winning his 49th singles match and 52nd doubles match to hit the century mark.
The women's team currently stands at 1-12 overall and 0-4 in the GLIAC after today's loss. The Eagles took all three doubles matches to earn the first point. All three of them ended 6-1 in favor of the Eagles.
Willemien Coetzee won at one singles by scores of 6-2, 6-3 over Gabriella Hudec. It was her fifth singles win of the season.
Isabella Carofano picked up a three-set win at two singles against Camille Ringot (6-3, 4-6, 6-3). Carofano also won for the fifth time in singles this season.
The men's team currently is 7-6 overall and 2-2 in the GLIAC after today's loss. The Eagles got the first point in doubles.
Juan-Louis van Antwerpen and
Jonathan Bulmer won 6-3 at one doubles and that clinched the 100th career win for Bulmer. Bulmer won again at four singles by scores of 6-1, 6-2 against Jacob Hoffman. He is now 10-3 in singles this season.
Daniil Khitrou won at three singles by scores of 6-7, 6-1, 6-2 against Jordan Phelps. Khitrou improved to 9-4 in singles this season.
Bernard Anderson improved to 2-0 in singles and won at six singles 6-4, 6-4 over Grant Marzio.
