GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The theme of this season for the men's tennis team is hang on and get the win after yet another 4-3 victory on Sunday against visiting Walsh at GR Racquet Club. The Panthers improved to 7-0 overall while the Cavaliers are now 6-5 overall.
Jonathan Bulmer tied the all-time school record with his 59th singles win at three singles over Blas Ruiz. He and Tyler Chambers sit atop the mountain top and Bulmer still has a lot of season remaining. Bulmer and van Antwerpen could not team up for a win at one doubles however falling 6-3 to Jakob Riglewski and Alex Medina.
Joel Mast and
Quintan van Wijk were able to win 6-3 at two doubles over Pedro Campos and Dawson Drummond.
Daniil Khitrou and
Maxim Drinchich teamed up at three doubles for a 6-1 win over Luis Hernandez Ceballos and Blas Ruiz.
van Wijk at two singles had a straight sets win (6-4, 6-0) over Hernandez Ceballos. Khitrou at six singles had the team's fourth point to clinch the match as Medina had to retire after Khitrou won the first set 7-6 (7-4).
