DETROIT, Mich. - The Panther women's basketball team finished the season on Saturday with a 74-35 loss at Wayne State. The Panthers scored a season-low in the contest and ended the 2021-22 season with an overall record of 2-26 (1-19 GLIAC).
Toni Grace led DU with eight points in her final game and finishes her career with 1,394 points which ranks sixth in school history. She also had 373 free throws which is third and 137 three-pointers which is 10th.
Kenzie Wilkinson had six points, four rebounds, and four steals in her last game.
The Panthers never led in the contest as the Warriors led for 39:38 of game time. DU trailed 17-8 after the first quarter and 38-14 at halftime. For the game, DU shot 12-of-65 (18.5 percent) including 4-of-29 from the arc and 7-of-10 at the free throw line. Wayne State improved to 17-8 overall (13-7 GLIAC) and were led by Sam Cherney with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Grace George added 16 points and eight boards. Alexis Miller scored 16 points and grabbed nine boards.
