QUINCY, Ill. - The Davenport University women's soccer team traveled to Quincy for the 2022 season opener on Friday night. The Panthers and Hawks played 90 minutes of scoreless soccer for a draw on opening day. Next up for DU is a trip to Truman on Sunday with the opening kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET in Kirksville, Mo.

Davenport out-shot Quincy 14-7 including 6-2 in shots on goal while seven different Panthers registered an attempt. Newcomer, Citlali Luna, led DU in total shots with four, two of which were on target, while Ellie Fisher added two shots on goal as well. In goal, Gabriana Bennecke faced seven attempts with a pair of saves.
