GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University women's soccer team has now won or tied four matches in a row after a scoreless draw with Michigan Tech on Friday afternoon at The Farm. That's the longest such streak for the Panthers since 2019 and they'll look to make it five straight on Sunday when they host No. 23 Northern Michigan at noon.
The Huskies (3-4-2, 1-2-2 GLIAC) out-shot the Panthers (3-3-3, 2-1-2 GLIAC) 4-3 while the shots on goal were even at 2-2. DU's three shots came from
Natalia Casiello (on goal) and
Ainsley Oliver (on goal) off the bench as well as
Kathryn Hoeger. In goal for the home team,
Gabriana Bennecke made two saves on four shots faced. Bennecke has faced five or fewer shots in four of her last five matches.
The Wildcats (7-1-1, 4-1 GLIAC), Sunday's opponent, lost their first match of the season Friday at No. 7 Grand Valley State, 2-1.
