BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - It was a rather gloomy day for golf on Saturday as the women's team participated at the Ferris State Invitational at the Katke Golf Course on the campus of FSU. The weather featured cloudy skies and temperatures in the 50's at first tee starting at 9 AM. The Panthers could not build off their top five showing in the first tournament this fall and finished 11th of 15 teams with a two-round total of 659. The format was a 36-hole day which tested the players stamina both mentally and physically.
The Panthers shot 327 during the morning session and 332 in the afternoon session.
Lauren Gervais brought home the top finisher honors for DU in a tie for 38th place after a score of 163. She carded an 80 followed by an 83.
Ahja Crosby and
Karlee Hallberg tied for 42nd with a score of 165. Crosby fired 81-84 while Hallberg went the opposite of 84-81.
Melissa Walker finished in a tie for 48th with an 82-85 (167).
Hannah Meloche who finished fifth last weekend had a 51st place finish with two rounds of 84 for a 168.
