AUGUSTA, Mich. - The Davenport women's golf team hosted its own invitational over the last two days at the Stonehedge North Golf Club. The Panthers finished fourth with a total of 626 and a breakdown saw them shoot 320 under lousy conditions on Saturday and improve on Sunday with a 306. Wayne State won the invitational with a total of 615 followed by Ohio Dominican (622) and Ashland (623).
Lauren Gervais battled in out with Rebeca Vestman for medalist honors and it came down to the second playoff hole as Vestman got the honors. Both golfers fired a five-over par 149 and Gervais made up five strokes on Sunday with a one-over par 73. She was able to birdie two holes on the day coming at the par-5, fifth hole and par-5, ninth hole.Â
Hannah Meloche had a top-10 finish in a three-way tie for eighth place. She shot 79-75 and made up one spot on Sunday. Meloche did not have a birdie in the final round but managed three bogeys and 15 pars.
Hannah Robinson finished in a tie for 20th with a score of 159.
Kelsey Malone tied for 38th with a total of 164.
Melissa Walker tied for 53rd with a score of 172.

ThaiLee Gerding had her best performance to date finishing in a tie for 15th with a total of 157.
