GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport football program welcomed 55 signed student-athletes on Wednesday, February 1 who will help the Panthers sustain what was a record-breaking season in 2022 and ended with a trip to the NCAA Division II postseason. This year's signees include 19 who have transferred into DU for the current semester and 36 high school recruits who will join the team in the fall of 2023. The class has student-athletes from Michigan (34), Florida (10), California (2), Iowa (1), Connecticut (1), New Jersey (1), Pennsylvania (1), Arizona (1), South Carolina (1), Maryland (1), Illinois (1) and Ohio (1). The incoming Panthers are represented by 28 defensive and 27 offensive players.

Head coach Sparky McEwen said this about this year's class, " I am tremendously proud of the work my staff has done to put together this outstanding class of signees. I can't wait to get them on campus to work with our veterans and compete for a GLIAC championship. The focus of this class was centered around helping this program take the next step on competing on a national level. Every position is represented with high-caliber athletes that played impact roles on there perspective teams. After playing for a conference championship, it was clear that we still have work to do on closing the gap versus the national powers in our conference. This group gives us plenty of confidence that our program continues to take the necessary steps to compete at a high level."
