The Davenport men's ACHA Division I team made it four straight wins over the weekend in two dominant wins over Oakland University. The Panthers traveled to Rochester on Friday for a 10-1 victory at Suburban Ice Center. The return trip did not go any better for the Golden Grizzlies as Davenport won 11-2.
The Panthers put pucks on net all weekend long and had 62 shots on goal on Friday. Davenport scored the first eight goals with four each in the opening two periods. Oakland scored early in the third period but the Panthers hit double digits with two more goals for the 10-1 final tally.
Noah Bradburn had his first hat trick for the Panthers.
Brendan Bauer finished with five points including two goals and three assists.
Keelan Saworski lit the lamp twice and also had an assist.
Robert McLaughlin added a goal and two assists.
Tyler Majewski finished with three assists.
Sean Andrus stopped 25-of-26 shots in net for the win.
The Panthers bombarded the Golden Grizzlies on Saturday in the third period taking a 4-1 lead and building it to the 11-2 final with seven tallies in the final 20 minutes. DU finished with 65 shots on goal compared to 28 for Oakland. Davenport also went 2-of-5 on the power play.
Aden Saworski and
Keelan Saworski each scored a power play goal for Davenport.
Peter Stojcevski scored twice including a short-handed goal and also had two assists. McLaughlin had a goal and three helpers.
Jacob Demeter also had a goal and three assists. Bauer finished the weekend with 10 points as he had another five-point night with three goals and two assists.
Dallas Hainley led the team with four assists.
Nathan Gauthier stopped 26-of-28 shots in net to get the win.
The Panthers will wrap up the regular season next weekend with a pair of games against No. 14 Calvin.
