GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The women's basketball season did not have the ending they were hoping on Saturday as the Panthers dropped a 67-40 decision against Lake Superior State. The team was able to recognize
Emily Lange,
Ryan Harvey, and
Scout Nelson who were playing in their final game for Davenport as the 2022-23 senior class.
Nelson led the team with 11 points finishing with double digits for the 44th time in her career and 11th this season. She also had six rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Lillee Gustafson scored eight points and grabbed 13 rebounds. This season, she grabbed 10 or more rebounds in a game 15 times.
Mary Liedel also had eight points and four rebounds. Lange played 24 minutes and had four points, three boards, and two assists. Harvey scored four points and had two assists.
Mattison Rayman led the Lakers with 21 points and 12 rebounds. The Lakers shot 47.3 percent from the floor compared to 25 percent for the Panthers. The season ends as DU posted a 7-21 mark including 1-17 in the GLIAC.
