Panthers Drop Road Matchup at No. 14 Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. -  The Davenport women's lacrosse team fell 18-4 to No. 14 Lynn University Tuesday afternoon at Bobby Campbell Stadium.

The Fighting Knights (0-3, 0-0 GLIAC) took the first lead of the game, taking a 2-0 advantage over the Panthers (3-1, 0-0 SSC) 5:06 into the game. Ele Darmofal scored the first goal of the contest for Davenport off an assist from Blakely Malpass.

Lynn responded, scoring five unanswered goals, four of which were scored within the first three minutes of the second period to take a six-point lead. Malpass halted the run with 11:17 remaining in the first half, as she has found the back of the net in all three games this season for the Panthers.

However, The Fighting Knights went on to score eight consecutive while holding the Panthers scoreless in the third period.

Darmofal and Jordon Highley scored back-to-back goals for DU to trim the deficit to 11 with 9:02 left in the game.

Looking ahead, The Panthers will face their second ranked-opponent of the week, traveling to Daytona Beach, Fla on Friday to face off against No. 19 Embry-Riddle at 2 p.m.
