Panthers Exit GLIAC Tournament After 21-2 Loss to No. 16 GVSU

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The fourth-seeded Davenport women's lacrosse team fell 21-2 to top-seeded Grand Valley State (No. 16 DII) in the first round of the GLIAC Tournament Friday afternoon.

After surrendering 10 straight goals to start the game, Ele Darmofal put the first goal on the board for the Panthers (2-15, 0-6 GLIAC) 2:28 into the second half.

Davenport stuck again 1:12 later, as Theadora Krueger scored her seventh goal of the season to trim the deficit to eight.

However, the Lakers (13-4, 6-0 GLIAC) controlled the remainder of the contest, scoring 11 unanswered goals to closeout the game and advance to the GLIAC Championship game on Sunday at the GVSU Lacrosse Field.

Maisy Latus played all 60 minutes in goal for the Panthers, registering four saves in the loss. The redshirt sophomore ends the season with 187 saves, marking the third most in a single season in school history.
